Model Answer 1

The map presented depicts the blueprint for the redevelopment of Southwest Airport in the upcoming year. At first glance, it is evident that the airport will experience a considerable increase in the number of gates, alongside the addition of several customer-facing amenities, such as retail shops, a car rental service, and an ATM.

While the arrival and departure entrances will remain unchanged, the plan includes the installation of additional doors to enhance passenger movement. Presently, the departure space contains a single check-in counter and a café. However, the redevelopment project seeks to relocate the check-in counter from the left to the right side of the departure hall to make room for a designated bag drop area and café repositioning. Further, the addition of a café, ATM, and car rental service in the arrivals section will require an expansion of the building.

There will be no changes to the airport's security, passport control, and customs. Still, the new floor plan proposes retail shops immediately after the security section for departures. One of the most significant changes planned is the replacement of a walkway with a sky train track and constructing two branching corridors to access twice the current number of gates, which will increase from 8 to 18.

Model Answer 2

The given illustrations provide a comparative view of Southwest airport, depicting the existing facilities and the proposed plan of expansion. The airport is slated to undergo renovation, and upon completion, it will offer a more comfortable and convenient experience for travellers. It is evident from the illustrations that the expansion will involve the addition of new facilities and the remodelling of existing ones.

Presently, the airport has a single check-in counter and a café in the departure section. The future plan suggests relocating the check-in to the right side of the departure area to allow for a dedicated bag drop facility and a revamped café area. Moreover, the arrival section will be expanded to accommodate new facilities such as cafes, ATMs, and car rental services. Notably, the floor plan will remain the same, and security, passport control, and customs will remain unchanged.

After the renovation, the airport's capacity will increase significantly. The proposed plans include replacing a walkway with a sky train track and constructing two branching corridors that will enable passengers to access more gates. There will be eighteen gates in total, compared to the current eight, and shops will be located immediately upon exiting the security section. Overall, the renovation project aims to improve the passengers' experience and to make the airport more spacious and accessible.

Model Answer 3

The Southwest Airport will undergo redevelopment, as the diagrams show the proposed layout of the airport in the future. Overall, the renovation of the airport will expand its capacity with the addition of more gates and new amenities that offer improved convenience for passengers, both arriving and departing.

As the plans illustrate, currently the departure entrance is located on the left, where there is a café and a single check-in point, followed by passport control and security checks. After the proposed renovation, a dedicated area for the bag-drop will be added in the departure hall, while the check-in counters will be relocated to the right side, near the café. This will make the check-in process more streamlined for passengers, allowing them to easily move on to the next stage.

After passing through security, passengers will have access to several shops, which are not currently available. This convenience will enable passengers to purchase any necessary items before their flight. The concourse will be much longer, with 18 gates replacing the current eight. The moving walkway that connects passengers to their boarding gate will be replaced by a sky train for the convenience of passengers.

The arrival hall, on the other hand, will see a significant change with the addition of new facilities, such as a café, ATMs, and car hire services. These facilities will enhance the convenience of arriving passengers after they clear passport control and customs. The renovation of the Southwest Airport will ultimately transform it into a modern and convenient travel hub for passengers.

Model Answer 4

The blueprints on display provide a comprehensive view of the current and future Southwest Airport's infrastructure. The proposed renovations will enlarge the airport and introduce an array of modern facilities, including more gates, to enhance the overall experience for departing and arriving passengers.

At present, the airport has two entry and departure terminals, and eight gates that are accessible via a moving walkway. However, after the upgrades, the airport will boast an expanded concourse area that will feature 18 gates. The moving walkway will be replaced with a sky train system to expedite passenger movement and ease congestion.

The departure area is currently situated on the left, while the arrival area is located on the right. Travelers will encounter passport control and security shortly after they enter the airport. With the proposed changes, the airport will have an expanded pre-security area with new shops for travellers to browse before proceeding to passport control and security. A new bag-drop area will be located before passport control, and the check-in counters will be relocated to make room for the enhanced bag-drop zone. The café will be moved closer to the passport control area. The arrival hall, which currently has no amenities, will house a café, ATMs and car hire facilities to accommodate passengers who have just landed.
