It is a known truth that many adults in contemporary culture still struggle with reading. Because reading and writing abilities are so regularly employed in daily life, those who lack them may have financial troubles and other obstacles. A lasting solution to this problem, however, may be provided by substantial public funding and well-equipped adult education facilities run by qualified professional instructors.


Low literacy rates are associated with worse work prospects, worse employment outcomes, and lower income. People who do not know how to read or write frequently experience welfare reliance, low self-esteem, and greater crime rates as a result. A low level of literacy also limits a person's ability to make significant, well-informed decisions in daily life because they find it difficult to complete tasks like filling out forms, comprehending governmental regulations, reading labels for food or medicine, and other similar tasks. Additionally, parents who are functionally illiterate frequently put employment before education, have lower expectations from their children's education.
